My Top Brands for Spring

Discover my favourite brands this Spring: take a couple of minutes to yourself with your favourite drink and enjoy this new blog article.

There are so many brands out there, so how do you differentiate between them? Aesthetics, values, quality, customer service or many other factors may be decisive for you. For me, I try to be mindful about sustainability, quality of the materials used, as well as where the items are made.

Here are my top 3 brands of the moment, for clothing, accessories and footwear. 1. Favourite Clothing Brand: you will probably have guessed, from my Outfits of the Day, that @sezane is a big favourite of mine. The B-corp certified French brand has started to become increasingly popular while it remains accessible with high-quality craftsmanship too. There are regular new collections released, each just as beautiful as the last, so be wary of waiting too long to purchase your wish list as the items may not be available for long. That said, you may be tempted to purchase new items every time so make sure that you have a clear idea about what works with your existing wardrobe. In terms of fit, the clothes are typically true to size, however you might find that the trousers are rather long so you’ll have to factor in the cost of tailoring trousers. Sezane is well known for its beautiful knitwear, however, you may need to be careful of the composition as much of the knitwear contains mohair which can be quite itchy against the skin.

2. Favourite Jewellery Brand: Geneva-based @chloerose has to be my current choice for affordable and on trend jewellery. I particularly love their necklaces and earrings, which you’ll see me wearing on repeat, but in fact everything they have is absolutely gorgeous! This small business owned by Geneva based Sabrina and Fred, is named after their two daughters Chloe and Rose. Multiple boutiques are located in Geneva, and now Lausanne, as well as an online shop, make this brand very accessible in Swiss-Romande. Again, you may find that it’s difficult to choose just one item, as there really is a lot of choice: think carefully about the outfits you will wear with each piece, whether the jewellery will be worn alone or combined with other pieces you already own and whether it fits in with your personal colouring and signature style.

Check out the Chloe Rose website here.

3. Favourite Trainer Brand: New Balance. Nothing groundbreaking here, but a really comfortable, versatile and colourful collection of trainers which stands the test of time. The Boston-born brand dates back to 1906 and indicates just how timeless a good pair of trainers is. Now that trainers are more acceptable in the workplace (even office-based staff are wearing trainers more and more), you’ll see the New Balance 327 style pretty much everywhere. Don’t forget to weatherproof your trainers with a waterproof spray in case you’re inadvertently caught in the rain with a pair of fabric New Balances. If you sign up for their newsletter, you’ll get a discount code for 10% off your first purchase, but they can also be purchased via multiple retailers – including online – too.

There are so many more brands available of course – but it’s simply not possible to mention them all here as I’m only listing some of my personal favourites in each category. If you’d like to inject more colour into your wardrobes, I can also recommend Kattard Genève if you’re based in Switzerland. If you’re based internationally, you may like to consider Beyond By Vera for beautiful & colourful print dresses.

Should this have opened up more questions than answers for you, and you would like to receive personalized guidance finding your signature style and identifying the right pieces for your style, shape, personality, lifestyle, and budget – please get in touch here or have a look at my website to discover the various personal styling services I offer – I am currently taking bookings as of mid-April so don’t delay.

Wishing you all a lovely start to Spring wherever you are!

Best wishes,

Charlotte
